Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 4, 2026

Welcome to ExpenseBee. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting the financial and personal information you create while using our app. This Privacy Policy explains how ByteStudio ("we", "our", or "us") manages your data in the ExpenseBee mobile application (the "App").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you consent to the data handling practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not download or use the App.

1. Offline-First Local Storage Guarantee

ExpenseBee is built with an offline-first architecture. All of your transactions and financial records, including:

  • Income entries, expense logs, amounts, and custom transaction titles
  • Category labels (Food, Groceries, Bills, Entertainment, etc.) and custom budget limits
  • PIN lock security credentials and biometric authentication preferences
  • Generated CSV export files and historical financial summaries

are stored exclusively on your physical device inside an encrypted local SQLite database. We do not operate external servers to host or aggregate your ledger entries. We do not collect, transmit, upload, sell, or rent your personal financial logs, income numbers, or budget targets to our servers or any third parties.

2. Account Registration

You are not required to create an account, register an email address, or provide phone authentication to use ExpenseBee. The application operates completely offline without mandatory sign-in procedures.

3. Third-Party SDKs & In-App Purchases

To maintain, monetize, and manage subscriptions within the app, ExpenseBee integrates trusted industry-standard software development kits (SDKs). These third-party providers may collect non-sensitive device metadata automatically:

  • RevenueCat: ExpenseBee Pro optional subscriptions and entitlement unlocks (ad removal, PIN protection, custom CSV exports) are processed via RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes anonymous customer identifiers, receipt validation details, and purchase status. No transaction titles or ledger contents are sent to RevenueCat. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • Google AdMob: The free tier of ExpenseBee displays banner or interstitial advertisements. Google AdMob uses unique device advertising identifiers (such as Android AAID or iOS IDFA), coarse location, and diagnostic metrics to serve contextual or personalized ads. Users can upgrade to ExpenseBee Pro to eliminate ads entirely or manage ad personalization in device settings. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Expo Framework: Provides the cross-platform runtime for ExpenseBee. Expo may capture anonymous build logs, OS versions, and hardware device models to resolve app stability errors. Expo Privacy Policy.

4. Data Deletion & Backup Responsibility

Because all your entries reside in your device's local memory, deleting or uninstalling ExpenseBee will permanently erase all SQLite database tables, transaction logs, and category settings. If you wish to purge your data, you can clear the App data via OS settings or uninstall the App. Because we do not store your data on cloud servers, ByteStudio cannot recover lost financial logs once uninstalled.
