These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ShiftLedger mobile application (the "App"), developed and operated by ByteStudio ("we", "our", or "us").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App and uninstall it from your device.
1. License Grant and Restrictions
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable, and limited license to download, install, and run the App on your mobile device for your personal or internal business use. You may not:
- Modify, disassemble, decompile, or reverse engineer any part of the App.
- Distribute, sell, rent, or lease the App to any third party.
- Bypass or attempt to bypass any feature gating or advertising mechanisms built into the App.
2. Ad-Gated Features and Virtual Unlocks
ShiftLedger includes advanced features (such as Tax & Deduction calculations, Income Goal tracking, custom date range filtering, and multi-employee manager logs) that are gated behind rewarded video ads.
By watching an advertisement, you receive a temporary virtual "unlock" (typically 7 days) to use these advanced features. This unlock is a convenience license privilege only. It has no monetary value, cannot be redeemed for real-world currency, and does not represent an equity, property, or legal right. We reserve the right to modify, adjust, or retire these features or the unlock mechanisms at any time without notice.
3. User Inputs and Content Accuracy
ShiftLedger calculates wages, overtime, and tax deductions based strictly on the values you input. You are solely responsible for:
- Entering the correct hourly rates, work hours, and unpaid break times.
- Configuring appropriate overtime thresholds and tax percentages in accordance with local employment laws.
- Double-checking exported spreadsheets and PDF reports for accuracy.
ShiftLedger does not independently verify your data and is not a certified professional accounting or bookkeeping software.
4. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
ByteStudio and its developers do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from mathematical rounding discrepancies. Under no circumstances shall ByteStudio be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of wages, payroll errors, incorrect tax filing calculations, data loss, or device damage) arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the App.
5. Changes to the App and Terms
We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue ShiftLedger, or amend these Terms, at any time. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
