The information, estimations, and calculation outputs provided by the Vital Metrics mobile application (developed by ByteStudio) are for general educational, informational, and motivational purposes only.
1. Not Medical or Professional Advice
The App does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy. The estimations produced by the calculator systems—including Body Mass Index (BMI), Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR), Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), Calorie Deficits, Macronutrient Splits, Body Fat Percentage, and Ideal Weight—are generated by applying standardized mathematical formulas (such as the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and the US Navy tape measurement method) to your biometric inputs.
These calculations represent statistical estimates rather than personalized medical metrics. They do not replace the professional advice, physical examinations, or diagnosis of a licensed physician, dietitian, or healthcare provider.
2. Limitations of Mathematical Models
Standardized equations have inherent limitations and may not accurately reflect your individual health state:
- BMI Limitations: Body Mass Index is a simple ratio of weight to height and does not distinguish between muscle mass and fat tissue. High-muscle individuals (e.g. weightlifters or athletes) may register as "overweight" or "obese" under BMI calculations despite low body fat.
- BMR & TDEE Estimates: Equations estimate metabolic baselines based on averages. Individual factors such as thyroid function, hormone levels, muscle-to-fat ratio, genetic baselines, and environmental temperature can significantly affect actual metabolic rates.
- Body Fat Formula: The tape-measurement body fat estimation (US Navy Method) carries a margin of error and should not be substituted for clinical body composition measurements such as DEXA scans, hydrostatic weighing, or skinfold caliper testing.
3. Consultation with Licensed Professionals
We strongly advise you to consult with a doctor, physician, or qualified healthcare professional before:
- Adopting a calorie deficit or starting weight loss plans.
- Making major modifications to your macronutrient intake (protein, carbohydrate, fat ratios).
- Beginning a new exercise, cardio, or strength-training routine.
Seeking medical clearance is especially crucial if you have pre-existing health conditions, including but not limited to: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, kidney disease, thyroid disorders, eating disorders, or if you are pregnant or nursing.
4. Assumption of Risk and No Liability
By downloading and using Vital Metrics, you acknowledge that you are doing so voluntarily and at your own risk. ByteStudio, its developers, and partners shall not be held liable or responsible for any injuries, medical issues, health regressions, nutrition deficiencies, or damages (direct, indirect, or consequential) arising out of or in connection with your reliance on calculations, logs, or advice presented by the App.
